There is no more secure compact SUV than the Volvo XC40. This is evidenced by the results of a recently released accident test by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The model did exceptionally well in all areas and was the only small SUV to receive an overall "good" grade. This outcome demonstrates Volvo's dedication to safety.
The Volvo XC40 is one of only two vehicles to receive a "good" rating from the IIHS in their most recent crash test. You can't get a higher security rating than that. The test results demonstrated a low probability of harm for all occupants, making this vehicle the only small SUV to receive a "good" rating in every category.
The IIHS has revised its oldest safety rating, the so-called moderate overlap front rating, to give more weight to the safety of the vehicle's front and rear passengers. The enhanced test requires vehicles to guarantee little risk of damage for front-seat passengers and those seated in the back.
