The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition is a new electric boat that combines iconic design with a marine electric performance. It's a collaboration between Candela, a Swedish company making hydrofoil electric boats, and Polestar, a Swedish brand specializing in electric and hybrid cars.
The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition is based on the Candela C-8, which is the world's first electric boat with a range of over 50 nautical miles at 20 knots (23 mph) on a single charge. The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition adds some distinctive features inspired by Polestar's design language, such as a matte black hull, a minimalist interior, and a digital touchscreen display.
The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition is also equipped with Candela's patented hydrofoil technology, which lifts the boat above the water surface and reduces drag by 80%. This allows the boat to achieve high speeds and long range while consuming less energy and producing zero emissions. The hydrofoils also provide a smooth and quiet ride, as they eliminate waves and noise.
The Candela C-8 Polestar Edition can reach a top speed of 30 knots (35 mph) and has a range of 55 nautical miles (63 miles) at 22 knots (25 mph). It can carry up to eight passengers and has a spacious cockpit with comfortable seats, a sunbed, and a swim platform. The Candela C-8 electric boat is powered by a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged using a standard 230V outlet in three hours.
