The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Is a Family-Friendly Hybrid SUV with Room for Everything

If you're looking for a hybrid SUV that can fit your whole family and all their stuff, you might want to check out the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. This is a new model from Toyota that is based on the popular Highlander but with more space, more features, and more efficiency. It's designed to appeal to families who want a comfortable, versatile, and eco-friendly vehicle that can handle any adventure.

What's new for 2024?

The Toyota Grand Highlander is an all-new model for 2024. It's about six inches longer than the regular Highlander, which translates to more legroom for the third-row passengers and more cargo space behind them. It also has a longer wheelbase, which improves the ride quality and stability. The Grand Highlander is available in four trim levels: LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum. All of them come standard with all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain.

How does it look?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has a modern and commanding look that turns heads on every leg of the journey. It has strong flared fenders, chiseled body lines, and a bold grille that gives it a distinctive presence. It also has LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, and a power liftgate. The Grand Highlander offers seven exterior colors, including Wind Chill Pearl, Coastal Cream, and Ruby Flare Pearl. The Platinum trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic moonroof, and chrome accents.

How does it drive?

The Grand Highlander is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors that produce a combined 243 horsepower. It also has a lithium-ion battery pack that provides electric-only driving mode and regenerative braking. The Grand Highlander has an impressive fuel economy of up to 36 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway, which is remarkable for a large SUV. It also has a range of 600 miles on a single tank of gas.

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has a smooth and quiet ride thanks to its improved cabin insulation and sound quality. It also has responsive steering and handling, thanks to its independent suspension and electric power steering. The Grand Highlander can tow up to 3500 pounds, which is enough for a small trailer or a boat.

The Grand Highlander also comes with Toyota's Safety Sense 2.5+ suite of driver-assistance features, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and more. It also has a new feature called Rear Seat Reminder, which alerts the driver to check the back seat for children or pets before exiting the vehicle.

How does it feel?

The Grand Highlander has an incredibly spacious and luxurious interior that can seat up to eight people or seven, with captain's chairs in the second row. The third row has enough room for adults to sit comfortably, unlike some other SUVs in this segment. The Grand Highlander also has plenty of cargo space, with nearly 21 cubic feet behind the third row and up to 97.5 cubic feet with all rear seats folded down.

The interior is also packed with technology, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and a wireless charging pad. The Platinum trim adds a 10-inch head-up display, a JBL sound system with 14 speakers, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and ambient lighting.

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has a high-quality cabin with soft-touch materials and premium finishes. The LE trim has cloth upholstery and manual climate control, while the XLE trim adds leatherette upholstery and three-zone automatic climate control. The Limited trim adds leather upholstery and woodgrain accents, while the Platinum trim adds quilted leather upholstery and metal accents.

Should I buy it?

The Grand Highlander is a great choice for families who want a hybrid SUV that can fit everyone and everything comfortably and efficiently. It's bigger and better than the regular Highlander in every way: more space, more power, more style, more features, more efficiency. It's also greener and smarter than most other SUVs in this segment: it has lower emissions, higher fuel economy, advanced safety systems, and intuitive technology.

The Toyota Grand Highlander will go on sale in the summer of 2024, with prices starting at $43,000 for the base LE trim and going up to $55,000 for the top-of-the-line Platinum trim. It will compete with other three-row hybrid SUVs, such as the Ford Explorer Hybrid ($53k), the Honda Pilot Hybrid ($38k), and the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid ($48k).

The Grand Highlander is a welcome addition to Toyota's growing portfolio of hybrid vehicles (Toyota Prius $24k), (Toyota RAV4 Hybrid $28k), (Toyota Venza $32k), and (Toyota Sienna $35k). Toyota has been a pioneer in hybrid technology for over two decades, and it shows in its products. The Grand Highlander is not only bigger and better than the regular Toyota Highlander but also greener and smarter. It's a hybrid SUV that families can feel good about driving.
