Ford has announced the launch prices in Romania for the Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier, two compact models that are manufactured at the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova, Romania. The Ford Transit Courier is a versatile and efficient van that can carry up to 660 kg of payload, while the Ford Tourneo Courier is a spacious and comfortable MPV that can seat up to five passengers. Both models are based on the same platform as the Ford Fiesta and offer a range of petrol and diesel engines, advanced technologies and features.
Ford Transit Courier: A Smart Solution for Urban Delivery
The Ford Transit Courier is the smallest member of the Ford Transit family, but it offers a big load space of 2.3 cubic meters, which can accommodate items up to 2.59 meters long thanks to the clever load-through bulkhead. The van also has a sliding side door and asymmetric rear doors, making loading and unloading easy and convenient.
The Transit Courier is powered by a choice of two engines: a 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with 100 hp and a 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine with 75 hp or 95 hp. Both engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission and feature start-stop technology and regenerative braking to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The petrol engine has a combined fuel efficiency of 5.2 liters/100 km (45 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 119 g/km, while the diesel engine has a combined fuel efficiency of 4.0 liters/100 km (59 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 104 g/km.
The Transit Courier also comes with a host of smart features that make driving easier and safer, such as hill start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS, EBD, emergency brake assist, tire pressure monitoring system, driver alert system, lane keeping aid, speed limiter, rear parking sensors, cruise control, heated windscreen, air conditioning, SYNC 3 infotainment system with a 6-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth, USB, steering wheel controls, and four speakers.
The launch price for the Transit Courier in Romania is $17,500 (excluding VAT), which includes a $1,000 discount for orders placed until June 30th.
Ford Tourneo Courier: A Practical and Stylish MPV
The Ford Tourneo Courier is the passenger version of the Ford Transit Courier, offering a spacious and flexible interior that can accommodate up to five people or up to 1,656 liters of luggage with the rear seats folded flat. The MPV also has a sliding side door on each side and a large tailgate that opens up to reveal a low loading height.
The Ford Tourneo Courier is available with the same engine options as the Transit Courier: a 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with 100 hp and a 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine with 75 hp or 95 hp. The fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions figures are also similar to the van version's.
The Tourneo Courier also offers a high level of comfort and convenience for the passengers, with features such as heated front seats, leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, panoramic roof, SYNC 3 infotainment system with a 6-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth, USB, steering wheel controls, six speakers, rearview camera, front, and rear parking sensors, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, active city stop, lane keeping aid, driver alert system, speed limiter, cruise control, hill start assist, electronic stability control, traction control, ABS, EBD emergency brake assist tire pressure monitoring system and six airbags.
