Ford Introduces the E-Tourneo Courier: A Compact and Practical Electric Van with Style and Space

Ford has announced the launch of its latest electric vehicle, the Ford E-Tourneo Courier, a compact and practical van that offers plenty of space and style for urban drivers. The all-electric E-Tourneo Courier will be available to order in late 2024 and will join Ford's growing range of electrified vehicles, including the Mustang Mach-E, the F-150 Lightning, and the Ford E-Transit Courier.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is designed to meet the needs of customers who want a versatile and efficient vehicle that can handle both personal and professional use. The vehicle has a spacious cabin that can accommodate up to five passengers or up to 1,656 liters (58.5 cubic feet) of cargo space with the rear seats folded down. The vehicle also features a sliding side door and a wide-opening rear door for easy access and loading.

The electric van is powered by a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard. The battery can be recharged from 10% to 80% in about 40 minutes using a 150 kW DC fast charger or in about six hours using a 7.4 kW AC wall box. The vehicle also supports wireless charging via an optional pad installed at home or work.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier offers a smooth and responsive driving experience thanks to its electric motor that delivers 136 horsepower and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. The vehicle also features a regenerative braking system that recovers energy when decelerating or braking and a selectable drive mode system that allows drivers to choose between Normal, Eco, and Slippery modes depending on the road conditions and driving preferences.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier electric van is equipped with a range of advanced technologies that enhance safety, comfort, and convenience for drivers and passengers. The vehicle features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with SYNC 4A software that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as voice control and over-the-air updates. The vehicle also features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that displays key information such as speed, battery level, range, and navigation.

The vehicle also comes with Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of driver assistance features that include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, evasive steering assist, reverse brake assist, speed sign recognition, intelligent speed assist, driver alert system, rearview camera, active park assist 2.0, and head-up display.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is both a practical, efficient, stylish, and attractive vehicle. The vehicle has a sleek and modern design that reflects its electric nature, with aerodynamic lines, LED headlights and taillights, a closed grille with an illuminated Ford logo, and distinctive alloy wheels. The vehicle has eight exterior colors: Frozen White, Moondust Silver, Magnetic Grey, Agate Black, Blazer Blue, Race Red, Lucid Red (exclusive), and Solar Silver (exclusive). The vehicle has various customization options, such as roof rails, body-colored bumpers and mirrors, and interior trims.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is expected to start at around $35,000 in the US market and will compete with other electric vans such as the Nissan e-NV200, the Peugeot e-Partner, and the Volkswagen e-Caddy. The vehicle is part of Ford's commitment to invest more than $30 billion in electrification by 2025 and to offer an all-electric or plug-in hybrid option for every model in its European portfolio by mid-2026.

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is a vehicle that combines space and style in a compact and practical format and offers a zero-emission alternative for urban drivers who want to reduce their environmental impact. The vehicle is expected to appeal to both private customers who need a versatile family car and professional customers who need a reliable work vehicle. How the Ford E-Tourneo Courier Compares to Other Electric Vans

The Ford E-Tourneo Courier is not the only electric van available in the European market. Several competitors offer similar features and benefits, such as the Nissan e-NV200, the Peugeot e-Partner, and the Volkswagen e-Caddy. How does the Ford E-Tourneo Courier stack up against these rivals?

The Nissan e-NV200 is one of Europe's most established electric vans, having been launched in 2014 and updated in 2018 with a larger 40 kWh battery. The e-NV200 offers a range of up to 200 kilometers (124 miles) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard, and can be recharged from 20% to 80% in about 40 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger. The e-NV200 has a cargo capacity of up to 4.2 cubic meters (148 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded down or can seat up to seven passengers in the Combi version. The e-NV200 starts at around $32,000 in the US market.

The Peugeot e-Partner is a new electric van that was unveiled in February 2021, along with its siblings from Citroen e-Berlingo and Opel Combo-e. The e-Partner is based on the same platform as the Peugeot 208 and 2008 electric cars and shares their 50 kWh battery and 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor. The e-Partner offers a range of up to 275 kilometers (171 miles) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard, and can be recharged from 0% to 80% in about 30 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger. The e-Partner has a cargo capacity of up to 3.8 cubic meters (134 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded down or can seat up to five passengers in the passenger version. The e-Partner starts at around $34,000 in the US market.

The Volkswagen e-Caddy is another new electric van that was unveiled in March 2021, along with its larger sibling, the e-Transporter. The e-Caddy is based on the same platform as the Volkswagen ID.3 electric car and shares its 48 kWh battery and 83 kW (113 hp) electric motor. The e-Caddy offers a range of up to 220 kilometers (137 miles) on a single charge, according to the WLTP standard, and can be recharged from 0% to 80% in about 40 minutes using a 50 kW DC fast charger. The e-Caddy has a cargo capacity of up to 3.2 cubic meters (113 cubic feet) with the rear seats folded down or can seat up to five passengers in the passenger version. The e-Caddy starts at around $33,000 in the US market.

As we can see, the Ford E-Tourneo Courier electric van has some advantages over its competitors, such as its longer range, faster charging, more spacious cabin, and more stylish design. However, it also has some disadvantages, such as its higher price, later availability, and lower power output. Ultimately, customers must weigh their preferences and needs when choosing an electric van that suits them best.
