At the 2022 IAA Transportation Show, Ford Professional will showcase cutting-edge methods for maximizing vehicle availability and output. Ford Pro solutions, on display at the company's booth in Hanover, Germany, integrate the range of vehicles with software solutions, charging, and linked services to help commercial customers save money and increase productivity during the transition to electric vehicles.
Ford's new electric car lineup, including the E-Transit Custom, will be unveiled to the public for the first time during the show. More information on the next-generation Ford Transit Custom, which will be available in plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and EcoBlue diesel variants and will begin shipping in the middle of 2023, has been unveiled by Ford Pro.
Ford's new sophisticated Pro Upfit integration system aims to facilitate more intelligent and efficient conversions, and it's just one of several productivity-boosting measures provided by Europe's premier commercial vehicle maker.
The new Ford Ranger Raptor and Ranger Wildtrak, which have helped make Ford Pro the market leader in Europe's pick-up truck class, are also on exhibit.
According to Ford Pro CEO Ted Cannis, "rising expenses are placing our clients in Europe under tremendous pressure," and "the need for more efficient productivity solutions has never been stronger." Ford Pro's "unique and revolutionary platform" will ease the financial burden of going electric by streamlining business processes and cutting down on waste.
Ford's all-electric Ford E-Transit Custom was the star of their Pro lineup at the Hanover auto show. The a provides highly competitive performance for various customer needs, with a state-of-the-art battery allowing a range of 380 km and a quick charging capacity of 125 kW.
Customers can also select the brand-new plug-In hybrid model from the broadest Ford Transit Custom lineup for uses that call for increased adaptability, such as while making deliveries in dense urban areas or traveling long distances via highway. The new powertrain utilizes a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and an 11.8-kWh battery, much like the one seen in the Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid. The maximum range of an electric vehicle is 57 kilometers. ProPower Onboard provides the same 2.3 kW of power as the E-Transit Custom, so you can use your power tools and electronic equipment with no problem.
The Ford Transit Custom is available with the latest generation of Ford EcoBlue diesel engines producing 110 hp, 136 hp, 150 hp, or 170 hp, depending on the trim level. A mechanical limited-slip differential can be added to the standard six-speed manual transmission to increase traction. In addition, for the first time on the Transit Custom, an efficient eight-speed automatic transmission is introduced, providing a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 kg when paired with the new all-wheel drive system.
Like the all-electric Ford E-Transit Custom, the new Transit Custom was built from the ground up to provide exceptional performance and carrying capacity. It also offers a variety of new customer experiences designed to increase productivity, such as a Mobile Office (optional) with an innovative adjustable steering wheel.
Ford Pro's Upfit Integration System, a digital solution and the first of its kind on the market, was developed with the launch of the new Transit Custom in Europe to streamline this procedure. The new system's interface permits a solid connection to the car's electrical system, and it enables the 13-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen to be used for controlling the conversions' supplementary equipment. The cab need not be modified, and no auxiliary systems need to be wired into the original setup; thus, conversions can be put in faster and with greater safety.
For example, the customer can configure the logic for operating conversions to prevent a wheelchair from descending a ramp until the vehicle is stopped in P mode with the handbrake engaged. Fleet managers will be able to remotely monitor data from the digital equipment, including the temperature of refrigerated trucks transporting medications or food and beverages, thanks to the connectivity with Ford Pro software packages, which will be displayed on the SYNC screen.
