Comfort drives the specification. The Citroen C5 Aircross PRIME, announced on October 2026, tops the German range with equipment that buyers previously selected through options. Prices start at €42,790 in Germany, including VAT; delivery and registration cost extra.
What Does PRIME Add?
Citroen fits both front Advanced Comfort seats with 10-way electric adjustment, memory, heating, ventilation and massage. Hype Grey upholstery combines synthetic leather and fabric, while the standard panoramic opening roof includes an electric blind.
In addition, a 13-inch touchscreen, head-up display and 360-degree camera handle navigation, driving information and parking views. Drive Assist 2.0 adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane positioning and assisted lane changes.
The underlying SUV measures 4,652mm long, with a 2,784mm wheelbase: 60mm longer than its predecessor. That extra distance between the axles gives rear passengers more legroom. Progressive hydraulic suspension stops dissipate energy near the limits of suspension travel, softening harsh impacts.
Four Powertrains, Different Running Costs
PRIME spans four electrified versions:
- Hybrid 145: official combined WLTP consumption of 5.4-5.6L/100km.
- Plug-in Hybrid 225: a standard 7.4kW onboard charger supports faster AC charging when the electricity supply matches its rating.
- Electric 210 Comfort Range: official WLTP consumption of 17.0-17.7kWh/100km.
- Electric 230 Long Range: official WLTP consumption of 17.8-18.5kWh/100km.
Both electric versions include a heat pump, which reduces cabin-heating energy demand in cooler weather.
Pro-Tip: Should You Choose the Plug-in Hybrid?
Choose it if you can charge regularly. Its weighted WLTP figures combine 2.5-2.6L/100km plus 14.3-14.5kWh/100km; with a depleted battery, petrol consumption reaches 6.1-6.2L/100km. Compare your charging access and electricity tariff before treating its headline fuel figure as your likely running cost.
