The new Opel Grandland will be launched on the all-new STLA platform, which is part of the Stellantis group's strategy to electrify its entire portfolio by 2030. The STLA platform will enable the Grandland to have a range of up to 800 km on a single charge, as well as fast charging capabilities and advanced battery management systems.
The new Opel Grandland will also benefit from the investment of approximately $137 million in the Opel factory located in the German city of Eisenach, where the SUV has been produced since its birth. The factory will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and skilled workers to ensure the quality and competitiveness of the electric Grandland.
But the new Opel Grandland is not just about electrification. It is also about redefining the SUV experience with a bold and pure design philosophy that gives it a distinctive and dynamic look. The new Grandland features the iconic Opel Vizor, which integrates the headlights, grille, and logo into a single unit, creating a sleek and futuristic face. The new Grandland also offers a two-tone roof and body combination and striking lightweight alloy wheels that enhance its sporty appeal.
The interior of the new Grandland is equally impressive, with an all-digital Pure Panel display that simplifies and streamlines the information and controls for the driver. The Pure Panel comprises two high-resolution screens that can be customized to show relevant data and functions, such as navigation, entertainment, or Night Vision. The Night Vision system is one of the innovative features that make the new Grandland stand out from the crowd. It uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and animals up to 100 meters away in the dark and displays them on the digital cluster. If they get too close, the Automatic Emergency Braking system also triggers.
Another innovation that enhances the safety and comfort of the new Grandland is the IntelliLux LED Pixel Light headlamps, which are the next step in headlight technology. These headlamps consist of 84 segments per unit that adapt to traffic conditions by automatically switching off individual units to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers. They also provide permanent glare-free high beam for improved nighttime visibility.
