In the days before these reports, Tesla had made a lot of bad headlines. An African-American former employee of Tesla had also filed a lawsuit against the company in California. According to the person who works for Tesla, the company lets "rampant acts of racism" happen in its factories. This is what the former employee says in her lawsuit. She says that in 2021, she was the victim of a series of racist acts that were ignored by the automaker until one of her coworkers tossed a "hot tool" at her, racially abused her, and made more racist remarks.
A former Tesla employee won $136.9 million in damages last year after a jury found that he had been exposed to a racially charged work environment. These are not Tesla's first accusations of racism.
