Dacia unveils three new models at the Geneva Motor Show

Dacia, the Romanian carmaker owned by Renault, has revealed three new models at the Geneva Motor Show. The company, known for its affordable and reliable vehicles, has showcased the all-new Dacia Duster, the new Dacia Spring, and the Dacia Sandrider. These models represent Dacia’s ambition to expand its market share and offer more choices to its customers.

The All-New Dacia Duster: a modern and versatile SUV

The all-new Dacia Duster is the second generation of Dacia’s best-selling model, which has sold over 7 million units worldwide since its launch in 2010. The new version has been completely redesigned, with a more dynamic and robust exterior, a more spacious and comfortable interior, and improved safety and technology features.

Some of the highlights of the all-new Duster are:

  • A new front grille and LED headlights that give it a more assertive look
  • A higher ground clearance and a wider track enhance its off-road capabilities
  • A new 4x4 monitor that displays the vehicle’s angle, compass, and altitude
  • A new multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and a 360-degree camera
  • A new automatic dual-clutch transmission that offers smoother and faster gear changes
  • A new hybrid engine that combines a 1.6-liter petrol engine with a 48-volt battery and an electric motor, reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 10%

The all-new Dacia Duster will be available in Europe from June 2024, with a starting price of $16,500.

Dacia SPRING

The new Dacia Spring: a compact and electric city car

The new Dacia Spring is Dacia’s first electric vehicle and the most affordable one in Europe. The New Spring is a compact and practical city car with a range of 140 miles on a single charge and a top speed of 77 mph. The New Spring is designed to meet the needs of urban drivers who are looking for a low-cost and eco-friendly mobility solution.

Some of the features of the new Dacia Spring are:

  • A simple and elegant design, with a blue accent on the front grille and the logo, and a “Spring” badge on the tailgate
  • A spacious and functional interior, with a boot capacity of 10.6 cubic feet and a folding rear seat that increases the space to 23.3 cubic feet
  • A digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen that displays the battery level, the driving mode, and the navigation system
  • A smart driving assistant that warns the driver of potential collisions, lane departures, and speed limits
  • A fast-charging option that allows the battery to be recharged to 80% in less than an hour

The New Spring will be launched in Europe in September 2024, with a starting price of $14,000.

Dacia Sandrider

The Dacia Sandrider: a rally raid-inspired crossover

The Sandrider is Dacia’s latest concept car, inspired by the company’s participation in the World-Rally Raid Championship. The Sandrider is a crossover that combines the performance of a rally car with the versatility of an SUV. The Dacia Sandrider is designed to tackle any terrain, from sand dunes to mountain roads, with a powerful and efficient engine, a reinforced chassis, and a sporty suspension.

Some of the characteristics of the Sandrider are:

  • A distinctive and aggressive look, with a yellow and black color scheme, a large front bumper, and a rear spoiler
  • A lightweight and aerodynamic body made of carbon fiber and aluminum, with a length of 14.7 feet, a width of 6.2 feet, and a height of 5.6 feet
  • A 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox and a four-wheel drive system
  • A high-performance braking system with ventilated discs and four-piston calipers
  • A racing-inspired cockpit with bucket seats, a roll cage, and a digital dashboard

The Dacia Sandrider is not intended for mass production, but it showcases Dacia’s engineering and design skills and its passion for motorsport.
