Filmed on the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria, which boasts the highest density of Fiat Pandas in the world, "Pandelleria" takes viewers on an entertaining and sometimes surreal journey into the lives of the islanders and their connection to the iconic FIAT brand. The film showcases the Panda's role as part of the islanders' daily life, who rely on it to navigate the rugged terrain and the narrow streets of Pantelleria.
But "Pandelleria" is not just about the car but also a tribute to the people who built it. The documentary features interviews with 14 Pantelleria residents who share their passion for the Fiat Panda and their love for the island. Among them are a philosopher, a beekeeper, a farmer, a mechanic, a priest, and a musician, all of whom rely on the Panda's versatility to make their lives easier. Their stories are a testament to the car's practical qualities and the impact it has had on the lives of everyday people.
The film was conceived by Publicis Groupe agencies Leo Burnett and Publicis Sapient and produced by Twister Film, directed by Giovanni Troilo, known for his documentaries "Power of Rome" and "Vesuvio or: How They Learned to Live Between Volcanoes." The film's production quality is top-notch, capturing the beauty of Pantelleria and the Panda's role in the island's daily life.
