Honda will bring the 2027 Honda Prelude Limited Edition to Europe from autumn 2026, following its Japanese debut. Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic paint, a Bordeaux interior and red detailing define the package. Honda retains the e:HEV hybrid drivetrain and Honda S+ Shift, putting the buying decision squarely on colour, cabin finish and local availability.
What changes on the Limited Edition?
Honda replaces the standard Prelude's blue exterior detailing with red and adds black-cut alloy wheels. The treatment reaches further inside: red stitching runs across the steering wheel, centre console, dashboard, front seats and door pads.
| Detail | Standard European Prelude | 2027 Limited Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Exterior paint | Four regular colours | Exclusive Garnet metallic |
| Front/rear bumper inserts | Blue | Red |
| Brembo brake calipers | Blue | Red |
| Alloy wheels | 19-inch standard design | 19-inch black-cut finish |
| Interior colour scheme | Black/blue or white/blue | Bordeaux with red stitching |
| Cabin finishing | Blue/white dashboard embroidery | Red dashboard embroidery and dedicated mats |
The result gives buyers a coordinated factory colour package. Honda announces no additional power or special-edition chassis upgrade.
European hybrid specifications and efficiency
The European Prelude delivers 135 kW (184 PS) and 315 Nm, with 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. Its 1,993 cc Atkinson-cycle petrol engine produces 105 kW (143 PS) at 5,900 rpm and drives a generator; the traction motor supplies electric propulsion. A lock-up clutch also permits direct engine drive when operating conditions favour it.
Specifically, Honda S+ Shift adjusts motor torque and engine speed to simulate eight gear ratios. Drivers control these virtual shifts through steering-wheel paddles. The system creates shift sensations through software and motor control, without a conventional eight-speed gearbox.
A 2,604 mm wheelbase, 1,880 mm body width and 1,349 mm height establish the coupe's proportions. Dual-axis front struts reduce torque steer, while adaptive dampers adjust suspension control across drive modes. Honda lists a 1,480 kg kerb weight for the standard European car.
The standard model supplies the following WLTP fuel consumption reference; Honda's Limited Edition announcement gives no separate efficiency figures.
| WLTP test phase | Petrol consumption | CO2 emissions |
|---|---|---|
| Low speed | 4.7 litres/100 km | 107 g/km |
| Medium speed | 4.4 litres/100 km | 100 g/km |
| High speed | 4.6 litres/100 km | 105 g/km |
| Extra-high speed | 6.2 litres/100 km | 141 g/km |
| Combined | 5.2 litres/100 km | 117 g/km |
By comparison, these laboratory figures imply around 41% higher fuel consumption in the extra-high-speed phase than in the medium-speed phase. Temperature, traffic and driving style will change actual results.
Should you wait for the Limited Edition?
Choose it if the Garnet/Bordeaux combination justifies your dealer's quoted premium. Honda's European launch announcement gives neither a price nor a production total. Honda UK lists the standard Prelude from £41,595, providing a regional price reference.
Pro-Tips: Before paying a deposit:
- Confirm your country's delivery month. Honda Slovakia lists early 2027 despite the broader autumn 2026 European launch.
- Request an itemised quotation covering the edition premium, delivery charges and registration taxes.
- Compare an available standard Prelude: the Limited Edition retains its hybrid drivetrain.
