Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular for many reasons, including their environmentally friendly features and cost-effectiveness. However, when it comes to the Fiat 500e, there's another reason why it stands out from the rest - it's an energy-efficient charmer that's sure to turn heads.
The Fiat 500e has been named the 'Best electric minicar' by the English car magazine "What Car?" for the second year. Editor-in-chief Steve Huntingford praised the 500e for its ability to easily tackle city traffic while still providing a thrilling driving experience. Its energy efficiency is also impressive, with a rating of 140 Wh/km to 149 Wh/km, depending on the version. This puts the Fiat 500e at the top of the most energy-efficient electric cars on the market.
But what does energy efficiency really mean, and why is it so important? According to electric car technician Christoffer Mathiasen, energy efficiency is the electric equivalent of km/l in conventional fuel engines. Essentially, the better the energy efficiency, the longer the range you can get out of your car, and the less money you'll spend per km driven. For the Fiat 500e, this translates to a cost of approximately 42 øre per km, based on an average electricity price of $0.43 per kWh.
