The new unique Fiat 500C Dolcevita Edition and Fiat 500X Dolcevita Edition are the ultimate manifestations of the legendary "dolce vita" Italian lifestyle. The unique models combine the benefits of hybrid drive with the iconic Fiat 500 design and the driving pleasure of a cabriolet.
FIAT continues its strategy of releasing at least one particular variant of the Fiat 500 each year with the new unique models. With this one-of-a-kind concept, the brand is setting trends in the city car segment. The special models have always been homages to fashion, luxury yachts, technology, and historic Fiat 500 models. The fantastic models are also one of the series' commercial success secrets. The Fiat 500 family is an authentic icon of the Italian "dolce vita" that has evolved while maintaining its identity over time.
Electric drives are available on the new unique models. Both cars are outfitted with cutting-edge hybrid technology that is not only environmentally friendly and cost-effective due to low maintenance requirements but also impresses its ease of use. The Fiat 500X Dolcevita Edition Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine (96 kW/130 hp) and a 48-volt electric motor with a 15-kW output (equivalent to 20 hp). A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission transmits power (DCT). The Fiat 500C 1.0 Hybrid is powered by a three-cylinder petrol engine with 51 kW (70 hp), which is supplemented by a 12-volt belt starter generator, for example, when starting with electric power.
The exterior paintwork in Gelato White and the soft top made of ivory-colored fabric give the Fiat 500X Dolcevita Edition an exquisite appearance. The soft top opens electrically in seconds, and the trunk remains unrestricted even when the car is in open-air mode. Full LED headlights, 18-inch black alloy wheels with a gray finish, fine satin chrome details on the radiator grille, the surrounds of the LED fog lights, exterior mirror caps, and the door and tailgate handles round out the exclusive look. The Dolcevita lettering on the front fender also distinguishes the unique model.
The new Fiat 500X Dolcevita Edition features ivory soft-touch seats with contrasting piping and dark embossed "500" logos on the inside. The white dashboard inlay and satin gear knob coordinate. Electric lumbar support is available in the driver's seat. The unique model also comes standard with a rain and light sensor, reversing camera, and the UconnectTM infotainment system with integrated navigation. The system is controlled by a touchscreen with a screen diagonal of 7.0 inches (17.8 centimeters) and allows smartphones to be conveniently connected via Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM. DAB+ reception is available on the radio.
The new Fiat 500X Dolcevita Edition's hybrid technology combines a turbocharged petrol engine from the FireFly series with a 48-volt electric motor. The combustion engine, with four cylinders and a displacement of 1.5 liters, produces 96 kW and a maximum torque of 240 Nm. The electric motor has 15 kW. Automatic transmission with seven forward gears and a dual-clutch sends power to the front wheels (DCT). Not only does this configuration improve dynamics and efficiency. Because the electric motor is installed directly in the transmission, the Fiat 500X Hybrid allows for a fully electric drive in the low-speed range depending on the power requirement and battery charge level - for example, when starting, maneuvering, and in stop-and-go traffic.
The new Fiat 500C Dolcevita Edition is available only with a soft top that operates electrically. The exterior color of Gelato White and the soft top of Ivory complement the 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with chrome accents on the grille and door mirror caps. The italicized Dolcevita badges on the front wings emphasize the elegant appearance.
The interior is also elegant, with ivory-colored seats with leather inserts**, contrasting piping and white embossed "500" logos, real wood dashboard trim, leather gear knob, and specific floor mats with white piping. The UconnectTM infotainment system with a 7.0-inch (17.8-cm) TFT display is also standard, as is a navigation system and 50:50 folding rear seats.
The hybrid drivetrain of the Fiat 500C Dolcevita Edition unique model combines a three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine from the FireFly family, producing 51 kW from one-liter displacement, with a belt alternator starter (BSG). This is connected to the crankshaft via a belt system and, depending on the situation, either support or functions as a power generator. When a gear is engaged, the RSG generates electrical energy via recuperation, which charges the standard 12-volt onboard battery and an additional lithium-ion battery (12 volts, 11 Ah).
The Fiat 500C Dolcevita Edition provides a pleasant and comfortable driving experience while lowering fuel consumption and emissions. The drive is a hybrid system that is efficient, compact, and lightweight.
