The 2024 Dacia updates on the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Jogger and Logan

The 2024 Dacia updates on the Sandero, Sandero Stepway, Jogger and Logan

Dacia, the Romanian automaker known for its affordable and no-frills cars, has announced some updates for its 2024 lineup. The changes affect four of its popular models: the Dacia Sandero and Sandero Stepway hatchbacks, the Jogger crossover station wagon, and the Logan sedan. The updates include new design features, new safety equipment, and a new digital instrument cluster for the Jogger hybrid version.

Why Dacia is updating its models

The main reason behind the updates is to comply with the new Global Safety Regulation II (GSR II) that applies to all cars sold in Europe. The regulation requires new safety features such as:

  • Accident Event Data Recorder
  • Advanced emergency braking system (pedestrian & cyclist)
  • Lane Departure Warning System
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Traffic sign recognition with speed alert
  • Emergency Stop Signal

These features are now standard across the Dacia range, starting from the base trim level. Dacia says that the new safety equipment will enhance the protection of its customers and other road users.

In addition, Dacia is taking advantage of the mandatory switch to GSR II to offer some novelties and comfort to its customers by upgrading the design and product content of its models.

What’s new for the Sandero and Sandero Stepway

The Dacia Sandero and Dacia Sandero Stepway are the best-selling models of Dacia in Europe. In 2023, the Sandero was the second best-selling car in Europe, behind Tesla’s Model Y. The Sandero Stepway accounts for two-thirds of the Sandero mix.

For 2024, the Sandero and Dacia Sandero Stepway get new wheel designs, new body colors, and a new trim level.

The new wheel designs include two-tone Atara Flexwheels on the Sandero and Logan, two-tone Dark Atara Flexwheels on the Stepway and Jogger, and new Randia and Randia Dark diamond alloy wheels on certain models.

The new body colors are Safari Beige, which is exclusive to the Sandero Stepway, Shale Grey, which was previously reserved for the Jogger, and Cedar Green, which is emblematic of the Dacia brand. These colors add more variety and personality to the models.

The new trim level is the Sandero Journey, which is positioned between the Comfort and Prestige trims. The Sandero Journey offers a more adventurous look with black roof bars, black door mirrors, and black wheel arches. It also comes with a rearview camera, a leather steering wheel, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

What’s new for the Jogger

The Dacia Jogger is the newest model of Dacia, launched in 2023. It is a crossover station wagon that combines the spaciousness of a minivan, the versatility of an SUV, and the affordability of a Dacia. The Jogger has already surpassed 100,000 units sold and leads the C-segment (excluding SUV) retail sales in Europe.

The Jogger is available with three engine options: a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 110 horsepower, a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 95 horsepower, and a hybrid system with 140 horsepower. The hybrid system is the same one used in the Renault Clio and Captur, and it consists of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and two electric motors.

For 2024, the Jogger hybrid version gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, which replaces the analog one. The digital cluster displays information such as speed, fuel level, battery charge, hybrid mode, and driving range. It also shows the navigation instructions and the media information.

The Jogger also gets new decals on the sides and the tailgate, which emphasize its adventurous spirit. The decals are available in two colors: orange or silver.

What’s new for the Logan

The Logan is the oldest model of Dacia, launched in 2004. It is a compact sedan that offers a spacious interior and a large trunk. The Logan is the best-selling car in Romania and the third best-selling car in Morocco.

For 2024, the Logan gets the same new wheel designs and body colors as the Sandero and Sandero Stepway. It also gets a new sticker on the trunk lid, which shows the model name and the engine type.

When and where to order the new Dacia models

The new Dacia models will be compliant with the GSR II regulation and will be available for order in April 2024, depending on the country. The prices have not been announced yet, but they are expected to remain competitive and accessible, as Dacia’s philosophy is to offer the best value for money in the market.

Dacia is a subsidiary of Renault Group, which also owns Alpine, Lada, and Mobilize. Renault Group is one of the leading automakers in the world, with a presence in 134 countries and a market share of 10.5% in 2023. Renault Group is also a pioneer and leader in electric and hybrid vehicles, with more than 1.5 million units sold worldwide.

Dacia’s 2024 lineup is a testament to the brand’s success and evolution, as it continues to offer simple, reliable, and affordable cars that meet the needs and expectations of its customers. Dacia’s motto is “You do the maths”, which means that its cars are the smart choice for those who want to get more for less.
