The Audi RS 6 Avant performance model starts at 281,000 euros

Audi RS 6 Avant performance

The new Audi RS 6 Avant and Audi RS 7 Sportback performance models are stronger and faster than any previous RS 6 and RS 7 models. The powerful 4.0-liter V8-TFSI Biturbo engine now has 630 hp (30 more) and 850 Nm (50 more) of torque. This means it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds (minus 0.2). At the same time, the models are full of improved technology, extra features, and thoughtful design. From December, you can order the RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance.

"Performance" at Audi means "better performance" above all else. So, bigger turbochargers and an increase in charge pressure from 2.4 to 2.6 bars in the 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo engine in the Audi RS 6 Avant performance and Audi RS 7 Sportback performance add 30 hp and 50 Nm over the base versions. So, the performance goes from 600 horsepower to 630 horsepower, and the maximum torque goes from 800 Nm to 850 Nm. The performance models can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the RS 6 and RS 7 base models.

The power from the 4.0-liter TFSI engine is sent to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive through an 8-speed tiptronic gearbox with faster shift times. This is standard equipment. The power is split between the front and back axles in a ratio of 40:60 by a center differential that works only mechanically. More power is automatically sent to the axle with the best grip if a wheel spins. Up to 85% of the power can be sent to the front axle and 70% to the back axle. The improved automatic center differential is smaller and lighter. It makes the car easier to drive, gives it much more precise handling in corners, and cuts down on understeering in a limited area. In addition, the steering becomes even more accurate. It generally provides a more agile drive.

The new Audi RS 6 Avant and Audi RS 7 Sportback performance models come from the factory with 275/35 tires on 21" cast aluminum wheels. In addition to the optional 22" cast aluminum wheels that come with the basic RS 6 and RS 7 models, 22" light-alloy wheels are also available in high-gloss black metallic paint, matte grey, matte black, or Neodymium Gold matt paint. The new light alloy rim is about 5 kg lighter than the current 22-inch aluminum rim, and the car responds better because the unsprung weight is 20 kg lighter.

With the Audi drive select driving dynamics system, you can influence the car's character, and the individual driving settings are significantly different in the performance models. Also, new software in the gearbox control unit shortens the time it takes to change gears and makes the difference between the different drive settings more obvious.

There are 16 different colors for the new Audi RS 6 Avant and Audi RS 7 Sportback performance models. Ascari blue metallic paint and matte finish, as well as Dew Silver matte finish, are now available as color options for the first time. The RS exterior details in matte gray make performance models stand out. This way, the side mirrors, front spoiler, front side flaps, insets in the side skirts, roof rails, side window trim strips, and rear diffuser are all finished in matte gray. You could also choose the matte carbon fiber and black optics package. This way, the roof rails and window trim are made of black optics. You can choose between chrome or black for the Audi rings and the model name.

The well-known Audi RS design packages in gray and red are now available in blue for the cabin. Then, Mercato blue stitching is added to the black Alcantara steering wheel rim to make it stand out. This color is also used for contrast stitching on the floor mats, the sides of the center console, and the gear shifter cuff. The seat belts are a bright ocean blue, and you can order decorative inlays with a blue carbon fiber structure as an extra.

The performance version of the RS 6 Avant starts at 281,000 euros, while the performance version of the RS 7 Sportback starts at 328,010 euros. The performance version costs an extra DKK 135,000. It has more power (30 hp) and torque (50 Nm), so it can move faster and accelerate in 3.4 seconds. Also standard are quattro with sports differential, dynamic steering, four-wheel steering, and a higher top speed of 280 km/h, as well as certain details on the outside and inside.
