Lexus LC gets a stunning makeover and other upgrades for 2024

Lexus is not resting on its laurels when it comes to its flagship LC coupe and cabriolet models. The luxury automaker has announced a range of improvements and enhancements for the 2024 model year, including a new Lexus LC Ultimate Edition that combines the best features of both body styles.

What is the Lexus LC Ultimate Edition?

The 2024 Lexus LC Ultimate Edition is a limited-edition model that will be available in both coupe and cabriolet versions, with only 100 units produced for each. The Ultimate Edition features a unique exterior color called Sonic Silver, which Lexus says is "a highly reflective silver paint that creates a mirror-like finish." The exterior also boasts incrementally formed canards on the front bumper, which are molded into the shape rather than attached separately. These canards improve the airflow and reduce the lift at the front of the car, enhancing the handling and stability.

The interior of the Ultimate Edition is also exclusive, with Breezy Blue leather seats and door panels contrasted by black Alcantara accents and silver stitching. The blue color is inspired by the threads used for samurai armor, which had a bluish-black shade known as kachi-iro (the winning color). The interior also features an aluminum plate with the car's serial number in front of the shift knob, as well as scuff plates with "Limited Edition" lettering.

The Ultimate Edition also comes with a number of performance upgrades, such as a Torsen limited-slip differential, active rear steering, variable gear ratio steering, and 21-inch forged alloy wheels. These features are designed to enhance the handling and agility of the LC, which is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. The engine has been retuned to provide improved response, smoother operation, and a better sound. The rear differential has also been recalibrated to deliver quicker acceleration.

The LC Ultimate Edition is not the only new thing for the 2024 model year. Lexus has also made some changes and improvements to the standard LC coupe and cabriolet models.

A new 10.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility, replacing the previous 10.3-inch display with a touchpad controller.

A new Blazing Carnelian exterior color option for the LC coupe and a new Terrane Khaki exterior color option for the LC cabriolet.

A new carbon fiber roof option for the LC coupe, which reduces weight and lowers the center of gravity.

When will the 2024 Lexus LC models be available?

The 2024 Lexus LC coupe and cabriolet models will go on sale in the U.S. in the spring of 2023, with pricing to be announced closer to launch. The LC Ultimate Edition will be available in select markets around the world, including Europe, Japan, Australia, and South Africa. In Europe, the LC Ultimate Edition coupe will start at €165,000 ($184,000), while the LC Ultimate Edition cabriolet will start at €179,000 ($200,000).
