The Sevel plant celebrates 7 million cars manufactured

Building large vans for Fiat, Citron, Peugeot, and Opel at the Sevel plant keeps Stellantis at the forefront of the EU30 commercial vehicle industry. Stellantis's Dare Forward 2030 plan calls for doubling commercial vehicle segment revenues.

The Sevel facility in Atessa is the largest European light commercial vehicle (LCV) manufacturer, and Stellantis is celebrating seven million vehicles produced there after 40 years of operation on this day. The Sevel plant manufactures vans and chassis for Fiat Ducato, Citroen Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, and Opel Movano.

Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Stellantis's Chief Operating Officer of Enlarged Europe, praised the Sevel team, saying, "The Sevel team contributes daily to accomplishing our aim of being the unchallenged leader in the commercial vehicle industry." "The factory has a history of providing goods that our "professional" clients require, and it will continue to do so as we work toward our goal of having battery electric vehicles make up 40% of the sales mix by 2030. The outcome of today's effort deserves congratulations from everyone on the team."

Stellantis's Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan calls for the company's commercial vehicle sales to quadruple by 2030 compared to 2021, thanks to the introduction of 26 new models and the implementation of electric solutions across all market sectors. Stellantis held a 33.2% share of the EU30 market and a 30.7% share of the South American market in the first half of 2022. The business also dominated the EU30 BEV market share in the first half of 2022, with a share of about 50%.

Stellantis and Toyota Motor Europe (TME) have just announced that the Stellantis facilities in Gliwice, Poland, and Atessa, Italy, would supply TME with a new large commercial vehicle (including in battery electric form) that will be marketed in Europe under the Toyota brand.

In 1978, FCA and PSA-Peugeot Citroen partnered to form the European Light Vehicle Company (Sevel). The Sevel production site, which opened in 1981, spans over 1.2 million square meters and has a daily output capacity of 1,200 automobiles. The Sevel plant can be configured into a wide variety of different light commercial vehicles and is the most adaptable plant of its kind in Europe.
