The Skoda Roadiaq is the result of a project by 31 students from the Skoda Vocational School in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. The students spent over 2,000 hours transforming a Skoda Enyaq iV SUV into a fully functional camper van with a sleek and futuristic design. The project was supervised by Skoda's chief designer Oliver Stefani, who praised the students for their creativity and craftsmanship.
The Skoda Roadiaq camper is based on the Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV, which previews the brand's upcoming electric models. The Roadiaq shares the same MEB platform and 82 kWh battery as the Vision iV, which gives it a range of up to 310 miles on a single charge. The battery powers two electric motors, one on each axle, that deliver a combined output of 302 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The Roadiaq can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph.
But the Skoda Roadiaq is not just about performance. It's also about comfort and convenience. The students redesigned the interior of the Skoda Enyaq to create a cozy and spacious living area that can accommodate up to four people. The rear seats can be folded down to form a large bed, while the front seats can be rotated 180 degrees to face the rear passengers. The roof of the Roadiaq features a panoramic glass window that can be opened to let in fresh air and natural light.
The Skoda Roadiaq also comes with a host of amenities and features that make it ideal for camping and traveling. The vehicle's rear houses a kitchenette with a sink, a stove, a fridge, and a coffee machine. There is also a storage compartment for utensils, dishes, and food. The side of the vehicle opens up to reveal a retractable table and chairs, as well as an awning that provides shade and protection from the elements. The front grille features the Skoda logo illuminated in white, while the rear has the word "Roadiaq" spelled out in orange letters. The wheels are 20-inch alloys with off-road tires, and the roof has a rack for carrying bikes or other equipment. The Roadiaq also has a sound system with speakers inside and outside the vehicle and a projector that can display images or videos on any surface.
The Skoda Roadiaq is not intended for mass production but rather as a showcase of the student's skills and vision. The Roadiaq is the seventh student car project by the Skoda Vocational School since 2014, following previous models such as the Mountiaq pickup truck, the Sunroq convertible, and the Element electric buggy.
