On August 1, 2022, 51-year-old Robert Techler will take over as Director of Scania Austria. Meanwhile, he is still in charge of his current region of Tyrol and Salzburg. He takes over for Manfred Streit, who is transferring to Scania Australia (AOR) as Managing Director.
Throughout his career, Mr. Robert Techler has accumulated more than 25 years of experience in the transportation sector. In my early years as a trained auto mechanic, my world revolved around trucks and transportation. Since 1999, the native Tyrolean has served Scania Austria in various capacities. His career path took him from a new car salesman at Scania to branch manager at Inzing and Kirchbichl. To oversee operations in Tyrol and Salzburg, he was promoted to regional director in 2007.
Robert Techler, a Scania employee for over 20 years, says, "My passion for the Scania brand is still the same as it was on the first day." It's an honor to be a part of Scania Germany and Austria's executive team, and I've enjoyed watching the brand grow over the years."
Over the next few years, the transportation sector will undergo a profound change, resulting in a complete realignment of its structure. Several factors, including but not limited to digitalization, climate change, and the emergence of new mobility services, are propelling this development. In his new role as director of Scania Austria, Mr. Robert Techler emphasizes the importance of implementing this transformation process to keep the premium brand on the path to success.
