Lamborghini Invencible coupe and Lamborghini Auténtica roadster with a 12-cylinder, 6.5-liter IC engine

Lamborghini Invencible

Two one-off Lamborghinis, the Invencible coupe and Auténtica roadster, highlight the marque's DNA and represent the zenith of Lamborghini's inimitable accent on personalization by involving the customer from the very start to create truly bespoke models.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, has said, "The V12 engine is one of the pillars of our heritage and our marque's success." Lamborghini's approach to commemorating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly exemplify our vision of excellence in personalization comes as the company prepares to embrace a new era of hybridization as the core of its Cor Tauri strategy.

Lamborghini's Centro Stile used the V12 platform to create two one-off masterpieces that are instantly recognizable thanks to their design elements that have helped the brand become recognizable while also drawing on a sporty character reminiscent of the track to cement the cars' legendary status.

The Lamborghini Invencible and the Lamborghini Auténtica pay homage to iconic Lamborghini creations like the Sesto Elemento, an ode to lightweight motorsport with a distinctively large rear wing, the Lamborghini Reventón, with its distinctive aeronautical aesthetic, and the Lamborghini Veneno, an extreme example of the search for aerodynamic perfection.

Automobili Lamborghini's Head of Design, Mitja Borkert, explained that the company had built two one-off vehicles with distinct personalities in response to track days and the high-octane circuit environment. "Lamborghini's Centro Stile is responsible for the designs, and they use the V12 platform to their fullest creative potential. These one-of-a-kind creations are inspired by our distinct design philosophy while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of our design history."

Each new Lamborghini is built around the same carbon fiber monocoque as the Lamborghini Aventador, manufactured in Sant'Agata Bolognese, and features a carbon fiber exterior. The massive hood is reminiscent of the Essenza SCV12's, as is the aggressive front splitter with its integrated vertical struts for optimal airflow management.

The hexagon, a signature shape of contemporary Lamborghini design, is subtly but prominently incorporated into the vehicle's many eye-catching features, most notably in the spectacular front and rear light assembly, which include novel hexagonal LED running lights. The Inconel tips on the center triple exhaust are a nod to the Sesto Elemento's air intakes on the hood, while the Inconel itself is a particular high-performance steel alloy with its origins in the aerospace sector.

To emphasize the cabin's airiness and spotlight the driving experience, both cars' interiors feature a minimalist dashboard with hexagonal 3D-printed air vents and no instrumentation on the console. The carbon fiber dashboard and door trim complement each vehicle's digital gauges and custom graphics.

The understated contrast easily distinguishes Lamborghini's Invencible coupé between the car's primary color, red, and the carbon-look parts, which are emphasized with red 'flakes. Carbon fiber is also used for the brake callipers on the Rosso Mars wheels, which are mounted behind the single-nut wheels and have carbon fiber fairings to allow airflow to the braking system. Two prominent hexagonal tricolors pay homage to the Italian flag on the classic scissor doors. These colors are also featured on the door linings and the steering wheel.

The interior is painted the same color as the exterior. It features leather and Alcantara in Rosso Alala and Nero Cosmus, with embroidered accents in Rosso Alala and Nero Ade to show the subtle contrast. A Lamborghini emblem, in Rosso Efesto, like the steering wheel paddles, is shown on the dashboard.

The outside of the Lamborghini Auténtica roadster is finished in Grigio Titans with Matt Black accents and a livery in Giallo Auge, which is also found on the car's brake calipers and primary aerodynamic components. Examples of these are the front splitter and a rear wing borrowed from motorsports that optimizes the aerodynamic load. Taking design cues from classic open-topped race cars, this vehicle features two domes that double as rollbars. The two-tone Nero Cosmus and Grigio Octans Alcantara complement the Nero Ade leather seating and the Giallo Taurus embroidery found throughout the open-air cabin.

Before moving into the hybrid era, Lamborghini developed only two sports cars—the Invencible and the Auténtica—with a 12-cylinder, 6.5-liter IC engine positioned longitudinally in the rear (Longitudinale Posteriore: 'LP.'). With a seven-speed ISR transmission, four-wheel drive, and the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system, this farewell to the Lamborghini V12 powertrain produces 780 horsepower and 720 Newton-meters of torque at 6,750 revolutions per minute.
