The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the newest addition to the Ioniq electric vehicle lineup, and it continues the tradition of cutting-edge safety features established by its predecessor, the Ioniq 5. In all of Euro NCAP's safety tests, the Ioniq 6 got five stars, the highest possible score.
Euro NCAP evaluates the safety of brand-new vehicles in four distinct ways: for adults, for children, for safety aids, and vulnerable road users. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 scored exceptionally high in the first three categories and did well in the fourth.
Including a central airbag between the driver and front passenger seats, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 comes standard with a total of seven airbags. Hyundai's cutting-edge SmartSense driver assistance systems, which include the latest in intelligent and active safety technology, are also included. For example, Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) lets you change lanes, stay in your lane, and keep a safe distance from other cars.
Another state-of-the-art device is intelligent cruise control, which is enabled by satellite navigation and can automatically adjust the vehicle's speed based on the driver's desired speed and the distance from oncoming traffic. The system studies the driver's habits and uses navigation information to improve automated driving. The vehicle's collision assistant assists in preventing and mitigating potential collisions.
Assistive systems in the Ioniq 6 include an intelligent license plate scanner, collision assistance with cross-function, and an assistant that can drive the car away from an accident scene.
The electric car also has features that are made with the driver in mind, like a fatigue warning system that checks the driver's attention and sounds an alarm if, for example, the car in front of you pulls away from a red light.
Rearward safety is enhanced by many high-tech devices, including a blind-spot monitor with a video display, an upgraded blind-spot helper, a reversing radar with an emergency stop, and more. The Ioniq 6 also features a Safe Exit Warning, which alerts you if another car is coming up behind you just as you open the door, preventing potentially dangerous situations. Remote-controlled smart parking is another state-of-the-art solution.
The superior battery technology Hyundai invested heavily in for the Ioniq 6 enables all-electric driving with long-range and lightning-fast charging. With a long-range battery pack, rear-wheel drive, and 18-inch wheels, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 has a WLTP range of 614 kilometers, making it one of the most efficient electric cars on the market.
Hyundai's innovative E-GMP electric car platform is a significant contributor to the cars' stellar performance. Lightning charging at 800 volts is made possible, allowing the Ioniq 6 to gain 351 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. You can get from 10 to 80 percent charged in as little as 18 minutes, and having 400-volt charging capability built right in ensures you have the fastest and most reliable charging options available at all times.
The Ioniq 6, like the Ioniq 5, can power any standard item that can be plugged into a 16-amp outlet. The cutting-edge V2L technology in the vehicle is responsible for this, as it can generate up to 3.6 kW. The car is, therefore, ideal for outdoor activities like camping and DIY projects.
The Ioniq 6 is also Hyundai's first vehicle first to provide compatibility for over-the-air (OTA) updates for multiple control units. This means that the car's electrical components, autonomous features, batteries, navigation, and multimedia system may all be updated wirelessly. The goal is to make traveling by car even less stressful and more secure.
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be available for purchase before the end of November; remember that Hyundai IONIQ 6 First Edition electric sedan sold out very fast!
