The Skoda Vision 7S concept announces a new 7-seater electric SUV

Skoda Vision 7S electric SUV

Skoda has officially presented the new Vision 7S concept. It announces an upcoming 7-seater electric SUV and reveals the brand's new design language. Skoda gets a new logo to go with the debut of its unique design concept. Skoda has officially unveiled the new Vision 7S concept after a campaign to promote the new concept. As we mentioned before, the new concept represents a future 7-seater electric SUV that brings a completely new design language to the Czech brand.

At the same time, the presentation of the new concept also brings a new visual identity for the Czech manufacturer. We notice a new logo and a new corporate brand identity here.

The Skoda Vision 7S concept marks the official debut of the new Modern Solid design language. Announced in the spring of this year, the new design language promises a more simplistic look that combines the functionality, authenticity, and robustness of future series models.

The front of the concept has a completely new design compared to the brand's current design language. Dubbed by the Tech-Deck Face, this area brings a new light signature, a different grille, and a number of new details to highlight the off-road SUV character of the Vision 7S concept.

The new Tech-Deck Face grille is flatter and wider than what we see on other Skoda models, and the new Skoda logo complements this. The emblem is accompanied by an illuminated strip that spans the concept's entire width and contains an illuminated graphic. The lateral ends of the grille are made of smoked glass. These elegantly hide the concept's sensors.

The Modern Solid design language brings a new luminous signature. The LED headlights are drawn in the shape of the letter T and are arranged in two rows. The daytime running lights are located at the top and extend to the front wings. Directly below these are the main lights.

Even the taillights are drawn identically. The top of the optic block extends to the rear fenders, just like the front. The exterior mirrors continue this design trend, being drawn in the shape of the letter T. Even the door handles, which are hidden, are designed this way.

The new Skoda Vision 7S concept is the brand's first vehicle painted in a matte green color, Explorer Green. This shade highlights its rugged character, accompanied by several new visual elements on the bumpers. Integrated into the front bumper are no less than seven air intakes directed at the cooling system and the brakes.

Similar air intakes, nine in number, can also be found on the rear bumper. The central air intake is distinctively painted orange and contains a special element that can be detached. This item can be used as a hook and can also be used to cut off the car's power supply in an emergency.

The rims measure 22 inches and are sculpted for aerodynamic purposes. Also, here, we see other air intakes located between the wings and above the side sills. The rear doors open opposite the front doors, which is why we notice the lack of the B-pillar.

Last but not least, the roofline plunges subtly towards the rear. Here, there is an aileron to improve aerodynamics and make the design a bit more sporty.

The new Skoda VISION 7S concept is based on the MEB platform and is powered by an 89 kWh battery. This means an autonomy of over 600 kilometers in the WLTP regime. Skoda has not provided more information about engine power or charging times. We only know that the battery can be charged at a socket of up to 200 kVA.

The cabin of the Vision 7S is the most advanced ever seen in a Skoda car. For the first time, we have an interior that contains two distinct configurations. First, we have the driving configuration while driving. In this mode, the 14.6-inch screen in the middle is turned vertically, and all of the controls are in easy-to-reach places to make users safe and easy.

In relaxing mode, the interior is significantly transformed. The steering wheel and dashboard are pulled towards the engine compartment to create more space. The front seats rotate more inward and can be reclined more. The second-row seats recline more, too. Last but not least, the screen in the middle is turned horizontally so that you can watch movies or play games on it.

Skoda has rethought the driver's controls to be as intuitive and easy to use as possible while driving. In driving mode, the driver has an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel at his disposal and a heads-up display with an advanced augmented reality system.

The steering wheel is flattened at the top and bottom and contains the most important driving controls. These controls are painted orange. Also built into the steering wheel is a touch zone that only works when the car is in Relax mode.

The center console controls have also been rethought. As I said, the center screen is oriented vertically while driving. All the important information is displayed at the top of the screen, while the bottom contains the necessary touch controls. In Relax mode, the screen is turned horizontally, and you can also use a smartphone to control it from afar. Just below the screen are six buttons that can be used to control the multimedia system, car settings, phone, navigation, and application menus.

Below these buttons, we have three rotary controls. The two controls on the left and right are for adjusting the temperature, and the one in the center is for the content of the central screen. Immediately below them are two other buttons. One of these is the one that changes the configuration of the interior, between driving and relaxing modes, and the other is a wheel for adjusting the volume.

Moreover, a smartphone can be placed in the center console by a magnet and can be used as a trackpad. Passengers in rows 2 and 3 can also mount a smartphone on the back of the headrests containing magnetic surfaces.

The Skoda Vision 7S electric SUV also comes with a child seat right in the car's center. Specifically, the seat is mounted between the front and second-row seats, resulting in a high level of safety for the child and better supervision. Optionally, a ceiling-mounted camera can be mounted and play a video of the child on the central screen.

The interior of the Skoda Vision 7S is made from sustainable and recycled materials. However, another novelty is represented by the so-called interactive surfaces. With the help of unique technology, passengers can write messages or draw directly on the interior surfaces. You don't need a pen or pencil because the interactive surfaces allow you to write and draw with the touch of your finger.

The upper parts of the dashboard and doors contain dark artificial leather and indirect ambient lighting. The lower parts feature lighter-colored artificial leather and direct ambient lighting. Also, directly behind the central screen is an illuminated crystal that shows battery status in different colors and can be seen from the outside. Such crystals are also located in the area of the doors, which can warn if other cars or cyclists pass by when exiting the vehicle.

With the presentation of Vision 7S, Skoda refreshes its visual image. Thus, we have a new logo, 2D, painted in new shades of green. The new symbol will debut on online platforms, appearing on series models from 2024.

At the same time, Skoda also announced its plans for electric vehicles. In 2026, Skoda will launch three new electric models: a small car, a compact SUV, and a 7-seater electric SUV. The Czech automaker also wants at least 70% of its total sales in Europe to be electric cars by 2030.
