Why the Ford Mustang Mach-E Is the Best EV You Can Buy Right Now

Ford Mustang Mach-E

If you're looking to buy an electric vehicle (EV), you might be overwhelmed by the many options available. From Tesla to Hyundai, from hatchbacks to pickups, there's an EV for almost every taste and budget. But which one should you choose?

In my opinion, there's one clear winner: the Ford Mustang Mach-E. This is not just another EV. It's a Mustang. And that means it has the performance, style, and heritage that make it stand out from the crowd.

Here are six reasons why the Ford Mustang Mach-E is the best EV you can buy right now.

1. It's fast and fun to drive.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is not a boring electric appliance. It's a thrilling machine that can go from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.5 seconds (in the GT Performance Edition). It has up to 480 horsepower and 634 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful EVs on the road.

But it's not just about straight-line speed. The Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car also handles like a dream, thanks to its eAWD system that distributes power to both axles, its MagneRide damping system that adapts to road conditions, and its Unbridled Extend mode that optimizes performance for track driving.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car also lets you customize your driving experience with three selectable drive modes: Whisper, Engage, and Unbridled. Each mode changes the steering feel, throttle response, ambient lighting, and sound effects to suit your mood.

2. It has a long range and easy charging.

One of the main concerns people have about EVs is how far they can go on a single charge and how easy it is to recharge them. The Ford Mustang Mach-E addresses both issues with its impressive range and convenient charging options.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E can travel up to 305 miles on a single charge (in the California Route 1 model), which is more than enough for most daily trips and weekend getaways. And when you need to recharge, you can access the BlueOval Charge Network, which is the largest public charging network in North America, with over 63,000 charging plugs.

You can also charge your Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car at home with the Ford Mobile Power Cord or the available Ford Connected Charge Station, adding up to 30 miles of range per hour. And with the FordPass app, you can monitor and control your charging status, find nearby charging stations, and pay for charging with your phone.

3. It's spacious and comfortable.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is fast, efficient, spacious, and comfortable. Thanks to its clever design that maximizes interior space, it has room for five passengers and plenty of cargo space.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E has a flat floor that creates more legroom for both front and rear passengers, as well as a floating center console that offers extra storage space. It also has a panoramic fixed-glass roof that lets in natural light and enhances the sense of openness.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV also has a front trunk (or frunk) that adds another 4.8 cubic feet of cargo space. The frunk is water-resistant and drainable, so you can use it as a cooler for your drinks or snacks.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E also offers a range of comfort features, such as heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless charging pad, Bang & Olufsen sound system, SYNC 4A infotainment system with a 15.5-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and more.

4. It's safe and smart.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is fun, practical, safe, and smart. It has a suite of advanced safety features that help you avoid accidents and protect you in case of one.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E comes standard with Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, which includes features such as Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, Rear View Camera, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Post-Collision Braking, Reverse Brake Assist, Reverse Sensing System, and more.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV also offers available features such as Active Park Assist 2.0, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering, Evasive Steering Assist, Intelligent Adaptive Cornering Lights, Intersection Assist, Speed Sign Recognition, and more.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV also comes with Ford Intelligent Backup Power, which allows you to use your vehicle as a backup power source for your home in case of a power outage. You can connect your Ford Mustang Mach-E to your home via the available Ford Charge Station Pro. This way, you can power your essential appliances and devices for up to three days (or up to 10 days if you ration your power usage).

The Ford Mustang Mach-E also keeps you connected and entertained with its smart features, such as over-the-air software updates that enhance your vehicle's performance and functionality, cloud-connected navigation that provides real-time traffic and weather information, voice-activated controls that let you access various functions with simple commands, and more.

5. It's a Mustang.

Last but not least, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is a Mustang. And that means it has a legacy of excellence, innovation, and passion that few other vehicles can match.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is not just a nameplate. It's a tribute to the iconic pony car that has been thrilling drivers for over 50 years. It continues the Mustang's spirit of freedom, adventure, and rebellion. It's a statement of who you are and what you stand for.

6. Affordable price.

Another reason why the Ford Mustang Mach-E is the best EV you can buy right now is its affordable price. The Ford Mustang Mach-E starts at $45,995 for the Select model, which comes with a standard range battery and rear-wheel drive. The Premium model starts at $50,800, which adds an extended range battery and eAWD. The California Route 1 model starts at $52,400, offering the longest range of 305 miles. The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT model starts at $61,000, which delivers the most power and performance. And the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition starts at $66,000, which adds more features and enhancements.

But that's not all. The Ford Mustang Mach-E also qualifies for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits and state and local incentives, depending on where you live. This can significantly lower your final cost and make your EV purchase even more attractive. Plus, you can save money on fuel and maintenance costs over time, as EVs are cheaper to run and require less service than gas-powered vehicles.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is not just an EV. It's a Mustang EV. And that means it has the performance, style, and heritage that make it stand out from the crowd.

So if you're looking for an EV that can do it all, look no further than the Ford Mustang Mach-E. It's the best 2023 EV you can buy right now.

Where did you learn that the Mach E supports IBP?

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed article.

I've been researching Ford Intelligent Backup Power and saw you mentioned that it would work with the Mach E. I have a Mach E so this excited me. However, I found this: https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/f150-lightning/features/intelligent-backup-power/ which explicitly states this only works on the F-150 Lightning. Where did you get your information that the Mach E supported it as well?

Thanks,

Stephen.
